In traditional astrology, compatibility between two people is not random and it is not a gimmick. It follows centuries of observation codified into a system of elements (fire, earth, air, water) and qualities (cardinal, fixed, mutable). Our calculator uses those exact rules to produce the scores you see above.
The short version: signs of the same element understand each other naturally. Fire and air fuel each other. Earth and water nourish each other. Elements in opposition create friction that can either forge deep bonds or blow up in flames. Your compatibility score is a weighted combination of these element and quality affinities.
